Valencia Basket suffers to win in La Fonteta against Casademont Zaragoza (76-69)
Valencia Basket overcame the difficulties and
suffered greatly to add its seventh win in the Endesa League beating Casademont
Zaragoza in La Fonteta by 76-69. He suffered from the problems of his point
guards who played despite not being 100% after Harper's last-minute injury.
They suffered in the first half in which they were almost always behind against
a rival who punished every Taronja turnover. They suffered and gritted their
teeth to raise the defensive bar in the third quarter and took the lead with
points from Xabi López-Arostegui and Puerto. They suffered despite going nine
up in the last quarter with the reaction of the Aragonese team and with the
Fonteta on fire after an unsportsmanlike foul called on Xabi that Casademont
Zaragoza barely took advantage and hit another blow to the game with a three-point
basket from Jones. But it took more to knock down a rival who refused to let go
of the game and who reduced the gap to four in the last minute but the
connection between Jones and Davies ended up tipping the balance on the orange
side
